North Carolina Space Grant welcomes its new group of STEM Pre-Service Teacher Education Scholars. Students from across the state are invited to present their research findings at the North Carolina Space Symposium: Explore Earth and Beyond, to be held in Raleigh on March 22, 2024 by North Carolina Space Grant. Students must submit their NASA- or STEM-related research abstracts by the deadline, January 26, 2024, to present a poster.

Every day, there are more than 45,000 flights carrying 2.9 million airline passengers in the United States alone. Operational conditions from environmental and human-introduced factors can damage or weaken the structure. Researchers at NC State University in the College of Engineering are working on new technologies to reveal damage that lies beneath an aircraft's surface.
