NC Space Grant Scholar to Speak at NC State Via Downlink

NC State University and the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics will host a live video Q&A on August 30 with NASA astronaut Christina Koch, an alumna of both institutions who is currently serving as a flight engineer aboard the International Space Station. During the Q&A, Koch will answer questions from students at both schools.

In addition to the conversation with Koch, NC State and partners will host a program featuring moderated discussions with researchers in fields relevant to space exploration and a keynote address by NC State astrophysicist Katie Mack. The program will also include interactive exploration stations around Talley hosted by NC State and NCSSM student organizations focused on rocketry, science, engineering and related subjects. The event is free and the public is welcome to attend.

Koch was a 2001 NC Space Grant scholar, participating in an internship at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland with NC Space Grant support. During the August 30 downlink program, NC Space Grant will host an exploration station with activities and information about upcoming funding opportunities.
